PORTSMOUTH, NH — WEDNESDAY, MAY 17th, 2023 — Indigo Trigger, a boutique consulting firm specializing in Lead-to-Cash platform services for media companies, is proud to announce a strategic partnership with Minneapolis-based A Marketing Resource (AMR), that defines Indigo Trigger as the principal strategic implementation partner for AMR's award-winning Cash Discount program. The partnership pairs AMR’s patented technology and model with Indigo Trigger’s consulting and services team to satisfy tremendous demand from publishers looking to eliminate credit card fees that are common within advertising and circulation revenue operations.

Unlike unintelligent — and sometimes illegal — surcharge models, the Cash Discount program leverages AMR’s proprietary and patented technology which automatically and systematically determines all discounts and/or fees based on payment type. The model supports all payment types and works within the legal construct of The Durbin Amendment (part of the 2010 Dodd-Frank law), which allows a business to offer a discount to customers as an incentive to encourage payment by alternative methods other than credit cards.

The Cash Discount program was pioneered by Oahu Publications Inc. (OPI) and flagship the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. Officially launched January 1st, 2021, OPI saved over $1.2 million in annualized interchange fees in 2021 and is projected to save $1.3 million in 2023. A resounding success, OPI transitioned over 9,000 EZ Pay subscribers to bank draft/ACH and 21,000 customers in total — with virtually no loss of revenue.
